Vision Neshoba Draft Framework Plan and Strategies Presented

The draft plan and strategies for Vision Neshoba were presented to the Advisory Group at noon on February 16 at the Depot. The working draft was the result of all the overall work to date and came at the conclusion of Strategy and Design Week. The week hosted the planning team in an intense and extended time of developing catalytic strategies and designs focused on impacting community and economic development in Neshoba generationally, and responsive to community guidance and potential.

What is Vision Neshoba - A Generational Plan for Choctaw, Philadelphia, and Neshoba County?

Vision Neshoba is a broad and comprehensive community development plan created to provide economic and physical development strategies.

What community development elements will the plan address?

The plan will address current and future community development patterns, design and development for downtown Philadelphia, major mobility routes for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, key streetscapes, tourism support facilities, and economic vitality, among other elements.

How can I get involved?

There are multiple engagement opportunities planned for Vision Neshoba. These will include in-person community meetings, online surveys, and remote engagement. While the first of these opportunities has yet to be scheduled, they will be advertised to the community in advance. You may also sign up for project updates and engagement opportunities in the space below.

How will the plan be developed?

The plan will be developed by identifying community development opportunities, creating a long-term vision for quality growth and development, and designing implementation strategies to achieve the vision. Significant community engagement, facilitated by the Vision Neshoba planning team, will be integral to achieving these tasks.

What geographic areas will the plan cover?

The plan will cover all of Choctaw, Philadelphia, and Neshoba County.
